Humans have lived in groups and societies without formal hierarchies long before the creation of states or empires and after. Anarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is skeptical of all justifications for authority and seeks to abolish the institutions it claims maintain unnecessary coercion and hierarchy over the individual. The rattle snake has been a key symbol throughout American history, Benjamin Franklin wrote in the Pennsylvania Journal on Dec. 27, 1775

In short snakes have been seen as symbol of wisdom throughout history. Rattle snakes keeps to themself, wants to be left alone but is also dangerous and after good warning is not afraid to defend it self wholeheartedly if tread on.
This should be something that all men aspire to. To live their life as independently and as free as possible. To understand individual rights and not infringe on the rights of others, to be knowledgeable, physically fit and to be able to defend themselves and their tribes if necessary, both physically but perhaps more importantly legally. However strong enough and with enough wisdom to keep their skills reserved only for when they are truly needed.
